Dave Doran has a widely based background in international business. He has lived and worked in NYC, Boston and D.C. as well Geneva, Brussels and London. His undergrad in commerce was supplemented by a master’s in economics, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School. Dave is as familiar with the nitty gritty detail of start-ups and buy-outs as he is with the minutia and spreadsheets of the financial and investment banking worlds and the rarefied atmosphere and strategic decision making of the executive suite and corner office. He has worked as a CEO, COO, CFO and in various other positions, from his start as a financial analyst on Wall Street. Since retiring from an active day to day role in business, Dave has devoted his time to writing. His belief is that there is a dearth of true to life stories set in a modern corporate environment. He is using his background and experience in a series of novels that will highlight the intrigue, corruption and power plays that can take place in high places and corporate settings. Readers have told him that they enjoy these themes. Dave presently lives with his wife and family in Dublin.

The Author’s first Book, The Brexit Conspiracies, is in the political arena, not his preferred area of focus, which is business. Nonetheless, it is a tour de force. The story is a satirical take on Britain, Europe and other world powers, post referendum. The story journeys interestingly towards an unexpected outcome, built around an unlikely cast of characters from around the globe, all with twisted motivations. Britain wrestles with each of them to try to secure its goals. It is fiction, with meat in it. A real treat!

Welcome to Dave Doran Books! My writing history dates back only a few years, but I have stories to tell and something to say, so I hope you will join me on what promises to be an exciting journey.

Under the books tab, I have laid out my plans and given some flavor of where I intend to go with each new novel. Unlike the biblical tablets, these ideas are not etched in stone. I am open to suggestion and changing my direction. So, please join in and make your voice heard. Let me have your ideas on what I have already published, or the titles and subject matter I have identified for future books. As I start out I will try to give a more comprehensive roadmap by providing excerpts from my draft manuscripts.

This website was set up primarily to convey information about Dave Doran, a newly established novelist, who is creating an impact with his novel, The Brexit Conspiracies.

The plans outlined for his future books provide a useful early take on what he will have coming down the line for us. His voice is interesting and markedly different to others, as is his treatment of the power structures that exist out there and the worlds of business and politics.

The site has been constructed to allow feedback, commentary on related subjects and new points of view on business, the corporate, financial and political worlds.
